Studio Shots - Tuesday -- Week of July 7 - Topic What have you customized in your studio to make it work better for you?

Sorry the post is late today.

This week the topic is What have you customized in your studio to make it work better for you?

Have you repurposed something so that it can be used as storage space such as stacking some big cardboard ice cream cylinder boxes against a wall to use for yarn storage, a fork and hair comb for paste paper tools, or a work table top from a metal grating topped with glass? Have you taken a tool or storage item and modified it?

Please share one or more photos and some description of how and why you customized the object.

Here is a photo of Laura Lynn's work table that she designed and her husband built. Visit her blog to read her post about it here.

Studio Shots - Tuesday, Week of June 23 - Topic: As Is or No Tidying Allowed

This week the topic is "as is" (or no tidying allowed). How does your studio look as you are working on a project or preparing work for a deadline such as a custom piece or a show. How do you tend to work when you are in the middle of something? Do you put things away as you work, or do they wind up in piles around you? Please share your studio in process and maybe some description of how you tend to work.

Here is a photo of a corner of Valerie's studio with lovely bookshelves. Please check out more about her work and studio here.

Week of June 16

Use MisterLinky only to submit your post link with any comments about it that you want to add. For general comments, use the Blogger comments for this post.

See directions for using MisterLinky here.

Looking forward to visiting some great studios this week!

How MisterLinky Works

I have added MisterLinky, so you should be able to put your post link and comment in the MisterLinky comments area, and it will be a clickable link. If you have a general comment about the blog that doesn't have a link, please put it in the regular Blogger comment area. If you want to link to your Studio Shots - Tuesday post for the current week, please use Mister Linky. Thanks. :-)

How MisterLinky works:

Click on MisterLinky. Fill out the MisterLinky form. Put your specific post link for the week not your general blog link - where it says "url - optional". (I will add your general blog link to the Participants Blogs List on the sidebar) . Then you can put a comment where it says "comment". Any links in that area won't be clickable. Your comment will show up with your name being the clickable link to your post. Does this seem too complicated? If so, I can remove MisterLinky, but then we won't have clickable links.

Click MisterLinky also to find links to participants' blog posts. Their names will be the clickable links.

Studio Shots - Tuesday -- June 9, 2009, Topic: Tools and Materials

The topic for Studio Shots - Tuesday this week is tools and materials. To participate, take one or more photos of some of the tools and materials you use for your work. Do a post on your blog which includes the photos and some description of what the tools and materials are and what they are used for. Then come to the Studio Shots - Tuesday blog and add the link for your post in this week's comments.

Don't forget, you have the whole week to post your link. The Studio Shots - Tuesday post for the week will be posted on Tuesday, but then you have until the end of the day on the next Monday to post your link. Of course, the sooner it is posted, the more chance there is that more people will see it and come visit your blog.

Have fun!

I will add a preview photo and link to this post from the first person who adds their comment, if they like.

This week we have a preview photo from Karol's blog, her link is here:

Please visit her blog to see the rest of her post.

If you have suggestions for books to add to the Library Thing sidebar, please email me the titles, and I will add them.

Directions for using MisterLinky and also for leaving general comments are here.

Studio Shots - Tuesday -- Week of June 2, 2009

Welcome to Studio Shots - Tuesday. I love visiting people's studios through photographs, and think other people would enjoy it also. Each week people can write a post on their blog with one or more photos of their studio, then add the post link to the comments on Studio Shots - Tuesday blog post for that week. Anyone can participate whenever they like. There is no obligation to participate each week. With enough interest, there should be blogs to visit each week and we can get a little glimpse into where and how people work.

General photos of studio, tools and materials, work-in-progress, inspiration, storage, things on floor, wall shots, studio guests, studio pets, are suggestions for photos that can be included. The only restriction is that this is not a showcase for finished work, although finished work may appear in a general studio photo. If there is interest, we can have specific topics for some weeks. (Maybe twice a month.)

If you would like to participate this week, please write a post on your blog with studio photos and then put a link to that specific post url (not a general blog url) in the comments for this week. Because this is the first week, I am posting a little early and this week's comments will run until Monday, June 8. The next post will be Tuesday, June 9, and will run until the next Monday.

Glimpse of my messy studio (It's not always like this, but tends to move quickly back to this state after I straighten it up.) - rolls of mohair sitting on fabric tote bag project, trays of small fabric pieces for fabric collage all sitting on my cutting table.

Each week, I can post a preview version of one of someone's photos with a link to their post. This will highlight a person each week and give the Studio Shots - Tuesday blog some visual interest.

There will be a blogroll of people's blogs who participate. Also, if people have suggestions of books to add to the sidebar, please contact me.

If you have suggestions for topics, please let me know.
